With the arrival of warm weather in sunny southern Alberta, finally, and the swollen rivers due to the months of constant rain, a few of us decided to take off some time on Saturday last, and enjoy floating down the St. Mary’s river, outside Cardstone Alberta. The sun was out to play, but unfortunately for us, the glacier pack snow runoff was not as willing to allow us warmth. Regardless, we braved the fridged waters, and enjoyed two and a half hours of whitewater. My poor bald head is quite racked with guilt, due to the glowing redness of it all now.
The Group of Four, shortly expanded to the group of Six.
Baily was a little scared of the water, and I unfortunately did not help the situation.
Lydia just before launch.
Another manly pose by John.

The sky and bright colours make Lethbridge look warm. But then the sentence about the glacier run-off brings us back to reality. BRRR. Brave soul. Looks like you had fun though, so that’s good!
Looks like fun – for those who LOVE cold water!
So….was it colder than Lake Huron in April?
