As I have been working on several projects for the department, here at the University of Lethbridge, I have also been in contact with several individuals of varying backgrounds, who all have brought similar ideas to light. One of the most pronounced ideas has been the utilization of multimedia in the educational sphere, similar to what I have been working on with the Sastor.com project. However, there are other ways of disseminating information beyond just graphics and text. Enter Podcasting.
I first conceived of the possibility of podcasting as a student after some quick conversations with Nathaniel. His own work on the Myvillagelink.com podcast helped to solidify the practicallity and relative ease of podcasting. So I began a search; A search for funds as well as information regarding intro podcasting equipment and tips.
Today was the realization of my month old dreams (if only all my dreams materialized this quickly). Entering the office today, I came across this bright silver case.
Opening the case brought a wonderment of surprises.Well, not actually, as I already had researched the equipment, and knew exactly I would be getting for my buck.
The best part is this, I didn’t have to pay for it. After submitting a proposal, the department choose to purchase the podcasting/recording equipment with the idea that I would play with it and get a podcast going for the department before I take off in Dec. And by play with it, they meant take it home and go crazy
Tee hee.
