Winter has arrived in Lethbridge Alberta! The snow is on the ground, and it is beautiful. However, the beauty is slightly tempered by the plunging temperatures. Today it is expected to reach minus 25 Celsius, with that biting nagging yuk kind of cold. The good news? This is Lethbridge! Therefor, it is projected to be well above freezing by Monday. Thank goodness for the Chinook winds.
This is how the trees often look in the morning, only to have been blown off by mid afternoon. It is an interesting dichotomy of striking beauty and harsh reality. But it was a moment I could not afford to miss.
I took a few pictures on the way to school, and on the way home from school the other day. The prairies have an unique cold, unlike any other cold I have every experienced, and I spent a whole winter in Timmins Ontario. It is kept at bay by layers of warm clothing, but merciless on any exposed skin, freezing it in a matter of moments. It may just be a matter of my mind, but the huge, clear blue sky’s and the dry crisp snow experience that much colder.
It is even colder then it Looks

The Nutty Professor? I hope that is a good thing, as I really can’t remember.
Christmas is going to be great. Only 17 more days. 16 really when you realize today is over. Then take out final exams, sleeps, and travel time, it is like 6 more days.
I hate to sound like your mother…but where is your hat?!?!?! You need to look as goofy as the rest of us Canadians or….as cool as your little nephew Asher. I can’t wait to squeeze you!
